Alex DeAngelo Parkersburg WV Obituary – Baton Rouge Native Dies Unexpectedly at 26

The Parkersburg, West Virginia community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Alex DeAngelo, a 26-year-old Baton Rouge, Louisiana native who passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2026, at his home.

Alex DeAngelo was the beloved son of Louis V. DeAngelo Jr. and Kristen (Davis) DeAngelo. He was a devoted brother, uncle, and friend whose life was defined by his deep love for family and the meaningful connections he nurtured every day.

Known for his gentle and expressive nature, Alex found joy in life’s simplest moments—sharing meals, laughing with siblings, and cherishing time spent together. His often-asked question, “when will Mom be here?” reflected the strong bond he shared with his family, a love that will remain everlasting.

Alex worked closely with his father and brothers at Southern Craft Restaurant, where he played a valued role beyond daily operations. His refined palate and honest feedback helped shape menu ideas, making him an integral part of the restaurant’s identity and spirit.

A passionate sports fan, Alex especially loved cheering for LSU teams, a pastime he shared with his brother Louis. He also expressed himself creatively through painting and drawing, using art as both an outlet and a source of peace.

Despite being the quietest among his siblings, Alex’s compassion and warmth were deeply felt. Whether sharing laughter, offering support, or guiding his younger brother, he showed his love in thoughtful, lasting ways. His habit of always saying “I love you” before parting now stands as a powerful legacy for those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his parents, siblings Louis III, Aiden, Isabella, and Leonardo, his nephew Louis IV, and a large extended family. Alex was preceded in death by his grandparents, with whom he is now reunited.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Vienna, with visitation scheduled for Friday evening at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg.

As family and friends gather to honor his life, they encourage others to celebrate Alex’s memory by sharing meals, laughter, and love—just as he did throughout his life.

Alex DeAngelo’s legacy of kindness, creativity, and unwavering love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
